Why Green Tea Is a Skin Care Superhero
Green tea is one of the most powerful natural ingredients for your skin. It’s rich in catechins (aka antioxidants) that help fight free radicals and calm inflammation.
It’s a go-to in green tea skin care for a reason—and when paired with probiotic-rich yogurt, it creates the perfect anti-aging, acne-fighting combo.
This mask is perfect if you’re into:
- Matcha face mask vibes
- Chia seed face mask benefits
- Natural acne remedies
- Investing in your skin with clean, minimalist products
If you’re into natural acne remedies and skincare solutions you can make at home, this DIY is a perfect place to start.
Just like the ice facial hack, this one works fast and feels amazing.

Supplies You’ll Need
You only need two main ingredients for this version of the face mask:
- 1 to 2 green tea bags (any brand, like Lipton)
- 3 teaspoons of plain unsweetened yogurt (probiotic if possible)
- Optional: pinch of baking soda (for acne-prone skin)
- Clean bowl for mixing
- Applicator brush or clean fingers
How to Make a DIY Green Tea and Yogurt Face Mask
This version of the green tea mask is even easier—just two main ingredients with optional add-ons. It’s especially helpful for acne-prone or aging skin.
Step 1: Choose Your Green Tea
You can use any green tea you have on hand—matcha is great, but regular Lipton green tea bags work perfectly too. Tear open 1 to 2 tea bags (depending on how much coverage you want) and pour the contents into a small bowl.
Step 2: Add Yogurt
Mix in about 3 teaspoons of plain, unsweetened yogurt. If you have probiotic yogurt, even better. Stir well until you have a smooth, spreadable paste.
Optional: Add Baking Soda
If you’re dealing with stubborn acne, you can add a pinch of baking soda to boost the mask’s antibacterial power. This step is totally optional and best avoided if you have very sensitive skin.
Step 3: Apply the Mask
Use clean fingers or a mask brush to apply the mixture to your face. Make sure to hit areas like your under-eye circles, nose bridge, and neck for full brightening and anti-aging benefits.
Step 4: Leave On for 10 Minutes
Let the mask sit for about 10 minutes. It’ll feel cool and slightly tingly, thanks to the lactic acid in the yogurt and the antioxidants in the tea.
Step 5: Scrub & Rinse
Wet your hands slightly, then gently massage the mask into your skin as a scrub. You can even use it on your lips and neck to remove dead skin cells and brighten dull areas. Finally, rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
This mask is super gentle compared to store-bought scrubs and has the added benefit of anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties.
You’ll notice your skin feels instantly softer, smoother, and visibly brighter.
