Here’s what you’ll need to create your own tinted lip balm recipe at home:

- Lanolin (or plant-based alternative for vegans)
- Vaseline (for version 1)

- Sweet almond oil
- Castor oil
- Vitamin E oil
- Heat-resistant glass beaker or bowl
- Double boiler setup
- Lip balm tubes or small containers (sterilized)

How to Make Beetroot Lip Balm – 3 Natural Recipes
Version 1: Vaseline + Lanolin Lip Balm
This is the easiest one to try if you’re just starting out.
Steps:
- Measure 6g of Vaseline and set aside.
- Add 4g of lanolin to a bowl.
- Mix in 7g of beetroot extract and stir until blended.
- Add the Vaseline and mix well until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon the mixture into a sterilized lip balm container.
Tip: Use this balm during the day or at bedtime to keep lips soft and pink.

Version 2: Beeswax-Based Tinted Balm
This version gives your balm a firmer texture—great for lip balm tubes!
Steps:
- In a beaker, add:
- 6.5g beeswax
- 2g shea butter
- 11g sweet almond oil
- 2g castor oil
- Melt this mixture using a double boiler.
- In a separate bowl, combine:
- 4g beetroot extract
- 4g lanolin
- Mix until smooth, then add to the melted wax blend.
- Stir in a few drops of Vitamin E oil.
- Pour into lip balm tubes and let cool at room temp, then chill in the fridge for 2 hours.
Bonus: This version leaves a rosy tint that helps lighten darker lips with regular use.

Version 3: Beetroot Oil Infused Balm
For those who want a more intense color and nourishment boost.
Steps:
- Add to your beaker:
- 6.2g beeswax
- 2g shea butter
- 2g castor oil
- 11g beetroot oil
- Melt using the double boiler method.
- In a separate bowl, mix:
- 8g beetroot extract
- 4g lanolin
- Let your melted mixture cool slightly, then combine with the beetroot mix.
- Add Vitamin E oil and stir until creamy.
- Transfer to a sterilized container and store in the fridge.
Heads up: If the wax hardens too fast, simply reheat to fix the texture.
